GmixEast New Artist Showcase

CSPS Hall, 1103 Third St SE Cedar Rapids, IA 52401, Cedar Rapids

$10 advance | $15 door

Four area artists, each set to release a new album this fall, are highlighted in this dynamic new showcase format.

Alicia Monéé is an actress, writer, and phenomenal Old School soul singer. She has appeared locally in Dreamgirls, in cabaret performances at Opus Cafe and Giving Tree, and as a featured vocalist with the band Funk Daddies.

Isaac Burris is the man behind a glitzy pop package and some pretty serious dance moves. Behind the dazzling stagecraft, though, is an artist preoccupied with deeper questions and a serious outlook on life.

Formerly known as Live Broadcast, treesreach is a trio composed of Dillon Rairdin, Riley Thurm, and Luke Long. Their debut album, a double CD reflecting their range, demonstrates the group’s passion for bringing different musical styles together to create their own unique sound.

Finally, Layton White is an accomplished singer-songwriter in the vein of Paolo Nutini or Gavin DeGraw His latest record, Standing Tall, was released earlier this year.

This full-evening showcase is a project of Gerard Estella and GmixEast, an artist development company based in Cedar Rapids and dedicated to cultivating local musical talent. It’s your chance to discover four gifted artists at the outset of their careers.
